The Guest House is architecturally designed to appear as the third wing of our main residence.
While it is next to our house, it is a separate dwelling, with a 3.5-meter breezeway separating the two.
Layout was specifically designed to ensure a feeling of separation & privacy from the main dwelling. We have created various zones, such as the little lake lookout, 2 elevated yoga & meditation platforms, an outdoor daybed, firepit, and an outdoor terrace specifically for guests only.
Guests also have their own private driveway, and a locked key box, located at the Guest House.
While every effort will be made to offer you complete privacy, you may see us taking care of the property, domestic animals, and wildlife.
We do share the property with our very lovable Border Collie and Jack Russell cross, who can’t differentiate guests from visitors & may come and say hello!
If you need anything or have any questions about the property, we are here to help! As your hosts, we want to ensure you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay—don’t hesitate to reach out.

The guest house is a modern, free-standing, architecturally designed retreat with stunning easterly views from the main living area and kitchen, across the river to the steep hills surrounding the valley.
It has 3 rooms:A cozy, comfortable, fully equipped kitchen with sliding doors to the outside.
One bedroom, which is large in size and features both a king bed and a small living area with a couch and chair to relax in. The room feels larger due to the five-meter-high cathedral ceiling. It has a very large, north-facing feature window with plantation shutters that overlooks the property’s beautiful little lake and jetty. The bedroom/living area have large sliding doors that connect to the outdoor patio, perfect for watching the morning sunrise.
An ensuite bathroom with a glass shower and clawfoot tub, directly under the skylight.
The kitchen and bathroom both have pocket sliding doors separating the rooms.

The guest house can sleep 2 adults. The Reverie adjustable bed consists of 2 king singles placed together to create one large king bed. Each side of the bed has its own remote control that can adjust the head and foot of the bed. Adjusting the headrest is great for unwinding before bed, allowing you to sit up and read or watch TV. The footrest allows you to experience zero gravity. Sleep well!

Our family includes two beloved dogs, Bow and Arrow — a Border Collie and a Jack Russell cross. They are gentle, affectionate souls who may occasionally wander by to say hello, as they won’t always distinguish a guest from a visiting friend or family member. While they are very friendly, they may bark from time to time when outdoors, as is their nature. We’ll do our best to keep them from disturbing your peace and to ensure they give you the space and privacy to enjoy your stay.
In the paddock, you will meet our orphan steer, Sabirah Bear, and his best friend Indie Boots, the white sheep. They are inseparable—they eat together, take walks together, and sleep side by side. Sabirah has an incredible story of survival after being orphaned at birth. We also have three other sheep that have been hand reared. Feel free to read their little remarkable story on our webpage.
As wildlife rehabilitators, we often have birds in care. Depending on their stage of recovery, you may see them in our outdoor aviary.
The property is home to its own magpie troop of seven. They each have names, lovely background stories, and very individual personalities. All of them are friendly to people. We do, however, ask that you please do not feed them.
Due to the year-round presence of water on our property, there is an amazing array of birdlife that stops by each day. You will often see pink and grey galahs, spoonbill storks, families of mudlarks, and willy wagtails, as well as eagles, hawks, rain cockatoos, and other varieties of water birds. If you're lucky, you may spot a sacred kingfisher. You may also see our Pacific black ducks, which we have reared and released, as well as the local wood ducks.
Our neighbouring properties are cattle farms. Their herds are very sweet and inquisitive. You will often find them at the fence line, as if to say hello and wonder what you two-legged creatures are up to? One of the most magical times of the year is calving season, when you can see the frolicking calves!
Due to our proximity to the Julimar Forest, you will often see kangaroos and emus on neighbouring paddocks, as they come down to the valley in search of food and water.
-
While we are animal lovers, unfortunately we are unable to accommodate pets. To protect the birds and wildlife that have been rehabilitated and released on our property, we have to maintain a pet-free environment. Thank you for understanding!
-
We ask that you do not feed any wildlife. However, you’re welcome to say hello to our rescue steer and sheep—Sabirah Bear and Indie Boots! If you’d like to give them a treat, we’re happy to provide pellets or carrots for you to feed them. For everyone’s safety, please Do Not climb over any fencing.
