ABOUT US – THE HEARTS BEHIND WILD WHISPERS
We are Ateeka and Heath, the creators and caretakers of Wild Whispers.
Our journey together began over a decade ago, brought together by friends—on the other side of the world…. Life has a way of leading us to the most unexpected and beautiful places.
What followed was a love story not only between two people, but between land and vision, creativity and care, soul and soil.
A HOME GROWN FROM THE EARTH UP
We found our blank canvas here—six acres of open sky and raw possibility on the banks of the Brockman River, nestled in the northern hills of the Darling Range.
Our valley, with its breathtaking views, is unique—reminiscent of the deep valleys of Western Australia’s South West, yet located right on Perth’s doorstep. It feels both close to the city yet wonderfully remote.
The Brockman River flows the entire length of the property, creating a natural border and a tranquil backdrop for the life we envisioned.
Once part of the vast surrounding cattle & sheep farm, our 6-acre property was released as a rare one-off parcel — not part of a subdivision. Surrounded by neighbouring holdings of hundreds to thousands of acres, it offers uninterrupted, sweeping views & a true sense of seclusion.
The land called to us with its quiet beauty and ancient calm. And slowly, with bare hands and big hearts, we brought our vision to life—creating a home and a private guest retreat, shaped from open space and quiet possibility.
A LIFE GUIDED BY STILLNESS AND STORY
Ateeka, born in London to a British father and an American mother, spent much of her life between England and the United States—until a twist of fate, and perhaps something serendipitous, led her to the other side of the world.
Ateeka’s journey has been one of artistry and care—spending half her life working in international film production, and the other as a surgical nurse. Drawn to nature and a quieter, more connected way of living, she found in this place a chance to bring her love of creativity, architecture and interior design to life.
Heath’s love for the wild was shaped early, through his time living and working in remote areas of the Australian outback, and through his deep commitment to wildlife and its rehabilitation. He was in search of a place to replenish his energy, create, and reconnect with the land.
We were married beneath open skies on a dear friend’s farm, holding close a simple but powerful dream: to build a home that felt like a sanctuary—for ourselves, for family, friends, and the wildlife we care for—and now, to share this beautiful space with others.
WILD WHISPERS AUSTRALIA WAS BORN
Every stone laid, every window positioned, every tree planted—has been part of this unfolding. What was once a wild block of land is now a living, breathing expression of who we are: intentional, slow-living, off-grid, soul-fed.
We created Wild Whispers to be shared. A guest house for two. A sanctuary to rest and reflect. A place where birdsong replaces noise, and the wind through the trees offers more wisdom than words ever could.
