The Guest House
The guest house sits harmoniously within the landscape – rooted in the simple charms of country living, yet standing apart with quiet elegance and a touch of indulgence.
Whether you’re sipping tea on the terrace, walking barefoot through the grass, or stargazing by the fire-pit, every moment here holds an invitation to be fully present.
Architecturally designed and entirely off-grid, our guest house offers beautiful easterly views from the main living area and kitchen—overlooking the winding river and the steep hills that cradle the valley.
Blending rustic elegance with modern comfort, the retreat sits beside our main residence, yet remains entirely independent—separated by a 3.5-meter breezeway and thoughtfully positioned for privacy and seclusion.
Powered entirely by solar and supported by battery storage, the space invites you to enjoy the comforts of modern living without compromising the gentle rhythm of nature.

ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN
Compact in size yet expansive in feel, the guest house features soaring five-metre high cathedral ceilings lined with natural timber, creating a cosy, light-filled retreat. A large north-facing window with plantation shutters overlooks a tranquil little lake, dotted with lily pads and a small jetty. The bedroom and living area include a king-sized adjustable bed, relaxed lounge seating, and sweeping views of the little lake and surrounding valley.
A fully equipped kitchen with handcrafted timber finishes, a gas stove, full-sized fridge, and everything you need to create nourishing meals.
A luxurious bathroom featuring a clawfoot tub placed directly under the skylight—ideal for soaking beneath stars or soft daylight.

No two visits feel quite the same—each season brings its own beauty, from morning mists and rain-kissed trees to sun-soaked afternoons and golden evenings.
An outdoor terrace bathed in morning sun offers sweeping views—perfect for a cup of coffee, watching the winter morning mist roll over the valley, or simply relaxing on the sun loungers.
A little lake lookout —perfect for quiet reflection. You might spot ducks gliding across the water or listen to the gentle chorus of frogs, their rhythmic calls blending into the night.
Two elevated yoga platforms beside the river offer a peaceful space for stretching, meditation, or yoga overlooking the valley.
A shaded outdoor daybed, nestled between trees and wind chimes, overlooks a bend in the river. Though it may run dry at times, the lush winter months transform it into a breathtaking scene as water flows again. Here, your time may be quiet—or you might spot our neighbours’ cows and their playful calves grazing or wading through the shallows: a simple, beautiful moment of country life.

Learning To Fly
Many of the birds that come into our care are too young to fly. Once their flight feathers begin to form, we gently encourage them to exercise their wings in preparation for flight.
